40FIT. FULLY EXPLOIT THE GENETIC POTENTIAL OF THE CALVES.

Feeding calves according to their needs in the first few weeks has a greater influence on performance than breeding. The foundations for fully exploiting the calves’ genetic potential are laid up to around the 40th day of life. Metabolic programming also takes place during this phase and has a lifelong effect. The first 40 days of life are crucial because the growth of tissue and organs takes place as a result of cell division. After that, it is no longer the number of cells that grows, but their volume. With the 40FIT feeding plan and many hardware and software products, Förster-Technik provides optimum support for calf growth during this phase.

THE 40FIT DRINK PLAN.
STRONG CALVES, STRONG COWS, STRONG PERFORMANCE.

The 40FIT feeding plan consists of a phase of controlled ad libitum feeding and a weaning phase.
The first phase consists of 35 days and allows the calf unlimited drinking throughout the day.
However, to protect the calf from possible overeating, the portion sizes and cut-off times between meals are fixed.
This ensures maximum utilization of the growth potential in the crucial first weeks of life.
The second phase also consists of 35 days.
Weaning from 12 to 2 liters prevents growth depression and promotes forestomach development.
The developmental advantage manifests itself throughout life and is the basis for better vitality and higher milk yield.
The weaning phase can be controlled depending on age, solid feed intake or weight development.

40FIT FEEDING. HEALTHY AND VITAL CALVES WITH HIGHER WEIGHT GAINS.

Calves fed according to the 40FIT plan reach insemination weight earlier and therefore have better conditions for higher reproductive performance and a longer productive life.
In practice, the calves achieve optimum daily weight gains of 800 to 1000 g per day.
This form of intensified feeding also has other positive side effects: The calves drink more slowly as they do not feel hungry and determine the timing of their feed intake themselves.
As a result, the milk is digested better and growth depression is significantly reduced.
This all leads to a higher milk yield in the first lactation.
The 40FIT plan is set as a standard plan in the automatic feeder program and can even be individually adapted to your feeding strategy with your feeding advisor.
